Hello!
My name is Jocelyn Cavallo and I am thrilled to be the school counselor at Prescott Valley School this year. I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families and community.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, I moved to Arizona in 1995 to attend the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!). After earning my bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I continued my education and completed my Master’s degree in Educational Counseling in 2001. Since then, I have spent my entire professional career working in a variety of educational settings, counseling students of all ages and helping them realize their true potential and achieve their goals. Most recently, I was a founding staff member and the full-time counselor of a fully virtual K-8 school which serviced students in Arizona and around the world. I am passionate about social-emotional learning and strongly believe that all students can achieve success in school and life if given the proper support.
I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona with my husband, Matt, our two sons, Mason (15) and Colby (13) and our Havanese puppies, Barry and Jasper. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, swimming, playing pickleball and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children this year! If you have any questions or believe that your child might benefit from school counseling, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Jocelyn Cavallo, M.Ed.
Hello!
My name is Chris Knack and I am your Prescott Valley School Counselor.
I began working with children and families in 1997 after earning my Baccalaureate in Psychology. My first position was as a classroom behavioral specialist in alternative schools tailored towards children with emotional difficulties who had been expelled from traditional schools, this began a decades long career working with children and families in a variety of educational settings, and resulted in two Master’s degrees and post graduate work on two different doctoral degrees.
As a school counselor, I developed a variety of programs to help children succeed in any environment, school-based health programs, gang violence relocation and family support programs, Crisis, and emergency planning, identifying school shooters, and behavior management for troubled teens. I have always found that with support and love our children can make their dreams come true, regardless of trauma, disability, and diagnosis, and have seen the reality of what children are capable of when given the right support, guidance, and nurturing.
It is my pleasure and honor to serve as counselor at Prescott Valley School and I look forward to helping our children here succeed. If you think that your child can benefit from counseling, please complete a referral, and start the process. I look forward to the success we can all achieve working together.
Warm Regards,
Mr. Chris Knack
